Memorandum of Understanding

QIS Standard 1 requires that each board ensures leadership input to Clinical Sexual Health Services by at least one Consultant holding certificate of completion of training in Genitourinary Medicine, and one consultant holding certificate of completion of training in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. Currently only two of the five NHS boards have that system in place. To compensate, the MCN has developed a "Memorandum of Understanding" which sets out the support available from consultants elsewhere.

This support includes

i) An annual review covering clinical issues in the specialty

ii) Telephone advice for support on complex cases

iii) Acceptance of referral of complex cases to Sandyford where required
