Men who have sex with Men (MSM) and having a healthy and good sex life
Men who have sex with Men (MSM) and having a healthy and good sex life
NHS Forth Valley ’s Central Sexual Health team and Gay Men’s Health have been working together on a project for cruising men. We have also been working with Central Scotland Police on this project.
One of our main hopes and aims is to encourage men to get tested for HIV.
We want to make sure men know about local sexual health services and where they can easily access condoms.
The work will take place out and about in ForthValley where men meet up for sex. Workers from Gay Men’s Health and NHSForthValley will be available to chat and offer advice.
We are really keen to get local men involved in the project and hope to develop a network of ‘peer supporters’, if you would like to be involved or would just like some more information on the project, contact us
It is important that anyone using the cruising sites in ForthValley is safe, and that the areas are safe and clean for people who may not be using the same areas for cruising. We will let you know here about any INCIDENTS in any of the areas we are working in where safety is a concern.
We will keep you updated here about the project.
Central Sexual Health is also on GAYDAR in the Falkirk chat room (our profile name is nhs-csex.health) – you can ask us questions there.
If you are looking for sexual health help you can phone the Central Sexual Health helpline on 01324 613944 (Mon-Fri 9-12pm).

Condoms
Condoms are still the safest and easiest way to safeguard your sexual health - find out how we can help make them easier to use.
Use a condom! The clinics at Central Sexual Health can give you free condoms and lube. You can also get condoms through the website http://condomsbypost.org.uk/
If you have any symptoms and feel something is not quite right, it’s not time to panic, it’s time to make an appointment . Get yourself to a clinic as soon as possible and avoid sex until they've given you the all clear
Get yourself screened regularly for sexually transmitted infections. You could have an infection without showing any symptoms, so if you have an active sex life it's worth getting a full sexual health check up and HIV test every six months . Come and see us to get all your tests done
Come and get yourself vaccinated for Hepatitis A and B
If you need some support or just want some information we are more than happy to see you
